This is very nice, I love watercolors. I like how you kept with a traditional watercolor style, which is always nice. I've tried watercolors, but I used them in a very thick and "acrylic paint" sort of way. I didn't do them justice. Keep it up!

Ahh, beautiful watercolour....a woman after my own heart. I'm jealous. I too use the medium, but I'm always reluctant to use them in this style - more diversely, and freely, probably as they were intended for. My style with watercolours is definately more conservative. I'm so impressed with the light washes you've given it, simply because they've turned out so effectively to create a striking atmosphere. Beautiful. An inspirational piece.

hmm. its... its.... hmmmmm. well... its BEAUTYFULL !
but what else can you expect from someone as beautyfull as you.
you really are a talented girlie. the watercolors are hardest tool to make art with. atleast for me they are, so i cant understand how anyone can make something like that with them. just absolutely amazing.
(and you said the "losing all artistic faith on yourself" part was a lie, heh, silly girl.)

Looks great, pixie.

When I see your paintings, I see the difference between western and asian style watercolor paintings. Western style watercolors (especially norht America) are more detail oriented and they seem to concern about sculpting shapes with colors. Brushes are more regarded as a tool to accomplish this. For that reason, there are lots of thin brushes used.

When I was in Korea, I saw all the watercolors were just like yours. There are always lots of brush strokes and combined colors to IMPLY the shape. They don't worry about tedious details at all.

I learned how to paint in the US, so my style is more likely western style. :) (Smile)
When I took a first watercolor class, the teacher taught us how to smoothe the different colors with gradation tone. This is definetely not the thing that Korean art students learn about in their first watercolor class. They never teach those things. On the contrary, they encourage students to show bold brush strokes and teach how to harmonize them.

In this case, good brushes are more important than good paper, to make good brush strokes. So Korean art teachers don't like students use tiny skinny brushes. They always make students use big and thick brushes. You don't even need many, maybe just one big brush. :) (Smile)
And I believe, it's easier said than done. Nod

I am kind of refreshed while I was looking at your painting. I didn't realize Malaysia is closer to Korea than America.

:) (Smile)

i started to notice a pattern of your choice of colors and it fits perfectly for the sceneries you portray. again, i love the gradual change of colors and the white space that suggests the remote distance behind the scene. great job!! :) (Smile)
